Why I'm doing Mission Year...
Hello Everyone! Well My Name is Breanne Aikens, but only my parents and teachers call me Breanne when they’re about to yell at me so please… call me Bre! (o:
Well, a little bit about myself, I’m 18 years old, Fresh out of High School! I graduated from a small private school which I loved! It was great, I palyed basketball for 6 years there, and its probably my favorite thing to do ever! I have one brother who is 18 months older than me, he has been my best friends and my hero for as long as I can remember.
Okay well, why I am doing Mission Year… For the past three summers I have worked at a summer camp for Inner City Kids. Its called Pine Valley Bible Camp. At Pine Valley I really learned what it ment to be a follower of Jesus Christ and not just a “good chrisitan”. After working the summer before my senior year of high school I really felt the Lord placing a strong desire to serve in some sort of Inner City ministry. For the first few months of my senior year I prayed that the Lord would use me however He wanted to. I told God that whatever he put infront of me I would do it. Anything. Through a strange course of events I found out about Mission Year, and fell in love with the program. I am a people person who LOVES building realtionships with people. And to find a ministry that is all about relationships, PERFECT. So i committed to Mission Year early. And thats WHY...

Well I believe I am supposed to be keeping everyone updated through this! I’ve never had an online blog before but her goes.
Well this morning i woke up, ate breakfast and… wait,
Thats what people do on online blogs right? (o: just kidding
So, Mission Year officially starts September 7th. I am so excited! A little nervous but I just cant even wait to see what God has in store for me for the next year. As i said a little bit about in the info part I work at a summer camp so I have been pretty busy with that. I have one more week left then I’ll be all done there! Its a bitter sweet. My fundraising is going ok, seeing as I’ve been so busy all summer I haven’t been able to put the time and energy into it that it requires. But God really gave me an awesome oppurtunity, my friend Keith (he works at camp with me) needs to raise a pretty large sum of money so he can go to school to become a worship leader, so we are teaming up and putting together a benefit concert! Were getting some hip hop artist and some other sweet entertainers to come play at our event! So were really praying God will Bless that day with lotsa money (o:
Well its terribly late, and I’m terribly tired. But I’m going to try to start to blog more.
