Happy New Year! We hope you had a peaceful and joyous holiday. We at Mission Year are really excited about 2009. Spring Break

We are thrilled to be making plans in Houston for our upcoming alternative spring break. A lot of passionate groups and individuals have already registered and preparing to serve the hurricane victims in Houston and Galveston by day and learn and worship with dynamic speakers in the evening. One Day Gatherings

In March and April we will be hosting our annual One Day Gatherings in 4 of our Mission Year cities (Atlanta, Chicago, Philadelphia, and New Orleans). These are great opportunities to learn about Mission Year more in depth and actually see, smell, taste, and enjoy what our cities and neighborhoods have to offer. Pauper’s Rite of Passage (PRoP)

During the Spring and Summer months of 2009 we will again be facilitating our weekend immersion experience (PRoP). Join us in Philadelphia or Chicago to study and experience what it means to live the life of a pauper, to completely rely on God for your sustenance – both physical and spiritual. This is an experience that will shape the way you view those that are homeless as well as your own lifestyle and priorities. Stretch your faith to fully trust the scripture that says, “Do not worry about what you will eat or what you will drink. Isn’t your life worth more than food, and your body more than clothes?” We hope to see you there! www.missionyear.org/shortterm

We will be on the road most of January and February at different churches, colleges, and conferences. Let us know if you’re going to be somewhere while we’re there so we can meet up!
